Wow! Amazing Labor Day has come and gone, reminding us that a new school year is here, the change in seasons and some incredible fall fishing is just around the corner. Let's not fast forward to quickly as many tournament anglers are competing in their respective Championships. I would like to wish all the Championship qualifiers congratulations and success in their bids, in becoming their circuits Champion.

The Canadian Professional Anglers Association is extremely excited with the announcement of a fall pro/am spectacular showcasing the talent of our CPAA members. The Big Jim Showdown will be September 27 & 28 in Kingston, Ontario. The Showdown is a very special event to recognize and support Big Jim Mclaughlin, who has been a leader and huge ambassador of our sport as a competitor and industry across North America. Big Jim is facing the biggest battle of his life, a fight with cancer. Jim needs the support of his friends, colleagues and countless fans now more than ever.

The Big Jim Showdown will also include the Canadian Military. Offering a day of tournament fishing and fun to military personnel. A small way fisherman can say 'thank you' to the men and women serving our country here and abroad, protecting our freedom and way of life in Canada. Tournament mornings will start with the exquisite voice of Michael Burgess singing our national anthem. Please stay tuned for more exciting announcements for The Big Jim Showdown.

What a year the CPAA has had with the Bass Pro Shops Kids Day in Toronto, Build a Pro angler seminar (first of its kind in Canada), the inaugural set of CPAA Angler Trading Cards and the CPAA Kids Day in Sarnia with our own Autograph Alley.

Congratulations to all our members who have had exceptional years in competition and especially those who have brought special events to their communities promoting the outdoors and fishing.

The Canadian Professional Anglers Association will continue to push forward bringing new opportunities to the members and tournament anglers. Educating and promoting is an essential ingredient to evolve our sport into the mainstream.

Make a difference in the sport you love and get involved with the Canadian Professional Anglers Association.

Sincerely
